2nd SAFEED-PAP Workshop PAP Detection: Europe-Asia Exchange of experiences (21-23 April, 2009)

Workshop BioreFuture 2009: final workshop of the two projects BIOPOL and BIOREFINERY EUROVIEW was organized on Monday March 30, 2009 at the Comité des Régions (Belliard St. 99-101 Brussels)

This day was dedicated to the presentation of the main results brought out by both projects Biopol and Biorefinery Euroview, having for objective to spread information about the last evolutions in the field of the biorefinery.

This workshop was also the opportunity to discuss about constructive opinions on technologies, research orientations and the politics influencing the development of this sector.

Remember that the Agrobiopôle wallon is partner of BIOREFINERY EUROVIEW, part of the 6th Framework program having for objective to help the Commission to identify the future R&D actions which will insure Europe a competitive place on the international level in the field of the biorefinery.


BIO-raffiniert Congress

The congress BIO-raffiniert was organized on March 24 and 25, 2009 in Oberhausen, Germany. Renewable resources and their potential market were treated. Bio-based products, markets and prospects; integrated biorefinery technologies: survey; strategies and technological tendencies, networks and financing means were central issues for the discussions.

This congress and accompanying exhibition formed a highly attractive international meeting point for information on the latest developments in technologies and products. It also provided a platform for initiating new cooperation for tomorrow's innovations.


On December 3 and 4, 2008, in Cologne, was held the Raw Material Shift & Biomaterials International Congress

The new developments in the matter of resources and materials were presented and the price Biomaterial of the year was given.
During the first day, they spoke about changes in the field of raw materials. The second day was dedicated to biomaterials, materials of future.

From 1st till 3 December 2008 was held the second meeting Biorefining for the Pulp and Paper Industry in Helsinki. The first day was dedicated to a workshop. Conferences were held during the two other days.

7-9 October 2008: Agrobiopôle wallon was exhibitor at EuroBiO 2008


EuroBiO 2008 (www.eurobio2008.com) took place at the Palais des Congrès conference centre in Paris from Tuesday, October 7th to Thursday, October 9th inclusive.
EuroBiO 2008 was organized around the same Four Pillars that have made BIO so successful in the US:
- a Conference Pillar with major Plenary Sessions and particularly interactive debates
- a Business Convention Pillar that facilitates meetings and networking
- an Exhibition Pillar bringing together leading international BioClusters, pioneering regions, consulting firms and privately held & listed companies
- a Career Fair Pillar to make it easier for the sector's leading stakeholders to link up with talented jobseekers.

EuroBiO 2008 covered biotechnology's three main fields of application: Healthcare on Tuesday, Environment and Agro-industry on Wednesday and mixed on Thursday.

More than 20 countries, 5,000 delegates and visitors, 120 international speakers and 500 companies and clusters were present at EuroBiO 2008, the epicentre of Life Sciences under the EU Presidency.


4-6 September 2008- Salon International du Non-Alimentaire (SIÑAL)

From 4 till 6 September, 2008 was held the first edition of the Salon International du Non-Alimentaire (SIÑAL). This event, organised by different development agencies from the Champagne-Ardenne Region, and in particular the Pôle Industries & Agro-Ressources, gathers numerous actors of various horizons, all federated around the theme of non food valuation of the biomass. Having special relations with this region, the Agrobiopôle wallon held a stand at SIÑAL to communicate the activities of its members which develop an expertise in the field of the biorefining.


18-19/03/08 - Innovact 2008

Innovact 2008 was held in Reims. The Agrobiopôle wallon participated at this 12th edition.
